The Apple of My Eye

“…for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.” – Zecharia 2:8* (NKJV)

We all go through differing seasons and phases along life’s journey, we experience highs and lows, great times, good times and times that challenge us to our wits end, but we have a God Who is always on our side. I know that it doesn’t feel that way sometimes, but His Word says that you are the apple of His eye.

When someone is the apple of your eye, that’s the person whom you love and care for deeply. That person means more to you than anyone else, you value them highly. It’s someone you absolutely cherish. You want to keep them safe, protect them from all harm, you want them close to you and you want the very best for them.

And that’s what God is saying about you.

“[insert your name here], you are the apple of My eye”

As the apple of My eye, you are under Divine protection.

  •   The Lord keeps you safe from all harm whether, physical, emotional, or spiritual. (Psalm 17 NIV)

As the apple of My eye, you are engulfed in Divine love

  • God’s love for you is unwavering, unconditional and relentless; it is incomprehensible how wide and long and high and deep is His love for you (Ephesians 3:18 NIV)

As the apple of My eye, you are in Divine peace

  • You will experience an overwhelming peace that surpasses understanding, freedom from worry, an unusual sense of comfort and fulfilment

As the apple of My eye, you are the recipient of Divine provision

  • God will provide for you in unexpected, sometimes miraculous ways, in an expression of His unbridled providential care for you

No matter what challenges you’re facing, no matter the season or the phase, God takes care of you every step of the way…

“He found him out in the wilderness, in an empty, windswept wasteland. He threw his arms around him, lavished attention on him, guarding him as the apple of his eye.” – Deuteronomy 32:10 (MSG)

Amen †
