The Gift of “No Condemnation”

“When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, ‘Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?’ she said, ‘No one, Lord.’ And Jesus said to her, ‘Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.’” – John 8:10-11

As believers in Christ we are to follow Jesus’ lead and refrain from condemnation. Too often we are quick to say “Go away sinner! “, causing persons to feel guilty and condemned.

Are you one of those accusers? Know that leveling accusations toward our brothers and sisters is not godly. Actually, in the Bible, it is the devil that is called the “accuser of the brethren”.

Are you the one being condemned? Know that Jesus does not condemn sinners but gives the gift of “No Condemnation”.

We are all sinners but Jesus is gracious towards us. Jesus Christ bore all our sins and failures on the cross. Christ shed His blood, taking the condemnation that was meant for us upon His own body, so that today we are free to live in victory over every accuser.

Let us follow Jesus’ example and not speak words of guilt and condemnation to each other or even against ourselves but rather let us look to Jesus and remember the words of Romans 8:1, as it is written,

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

If you are in Christ Jesus, know that there is no condemnation over your life. When you grasp and receive the revelation that Jesus has already been condemned on your behalf, it will give you the power to “go and sin no more”.
