The Bible says in Proverbs 4:6-7, "Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."
As little children we often wished that we could have our very own genie to watch over us. While some, at some point in time, prayed for the protection of a guardian angel. The verses above from Proverbs tell us that wisdom is available to us as a protection and a “watchman”.
Like King Solomon, we must not forgo wisdom but hanker after it. James 1:5 says that if we lack wisdom, that is, the kind of wisdom that we can receive only from God, all we have to do is ask for it.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
What a wonderful promise! Today ask God for His wisdom, knowing that you will receive it.
