On the road to Pentecost: The Spirit of God

Apostle Paul, in his first letter to the Corinthians posed a question,

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” [1 Corinthians 3:16]

God’s Spirit Paul referred to in this question is the same Holy Spirit that comes and takes up residence inside us [see 1 Corinthians 6:19] when we receive Christ Jesus into our lives, it is God’s own Spirit, His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in every born again believer. He opens our eyes to sin in our lives [John16:7-11] and sets us free from the grip sin has on us by guiding us into ALL Truth, the Truth of the Living Word of God.

When we study God’s Word, meditate and feed on it, the Holy Spirit inscribes the Word deep within us. He imparts understanding and the Truth is amazingly revealed, not only to us and in us but through us.

2 Corinthians 3:3, as it is written,
“You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”

The Truth of God’s Living Word becomes our new reality and our lives are forever changed. In this newness of life God’s Spirit in us brings God to life, as a living reality, in our personal experiences. The Spirit of God makes God vastly more than just a notion to us and ushers us into personal, intimate relationship with God. Amen†
